Less than a month ago, I was in Los Angeles at a retreat with my coach, Jeffrey Van Dyk.  The retreat was part a 10-month program in which I am enrolled that will culminate with the participants doing a TED-like talk on our “big idea”.  This talk will be in front of a live audience while simultaneously be live-streamed around the world from the Garry Marshall theater in Burbank, California.

I mostly feel excited – even as a part of me sometimes feel scared.

So… what do I mean by a “big idea”?

Here’s the definition I came up with during that retreat.

“A Big Idea is an idea that takes the way we normally think about, see and interact with something and flips it on its side to open up a new way of thinking, seeing and acting going forward.”

Or, as another participant defined it…

“A Big Idea fundamentally changes the way we see, act, believe and think.”

In the last year or so, it has become CRYSTAL clear that my entire life journey has been preparing me to bridge the divide that my tribe has between God and money – albeit subconsciously.  (Note: This includes me!)

So, going into this retreat, I knew my Big Idea would have something to do with that.

What I did not know is exactly WHAT the Big Idea would be.  Nor did I imagine the sense of “knowingness” I would feel once I got what my Big Idea is.  Ever since I have returned from LA, the CELLULAR sense of rightness, purposefulness and excitement I have felt has amazed me.  

That being said, my Big Idea has not been hatched nor is it ready to fly.   Instead, it is like a seed that has germinated and started to take root. It is “incubating”.

And rather than wait until it is fully developed before I share it with you and the world, Jeffrey suggested that I invite you to join me in this “incubation” process – to be part of and contribute to the development of this idea.   He encouraged me to find a way to publicly share what I am realizing, learning, experiencing and discovering around this Big Idea in REAL time.  And then to invite you to add your insights, questions, comments and experiences to the process.    

I LOVED the idea and immediately said “YES!”

Which is why,  , I am inviting you to join me in a weekly Facebook-LIVE discussion I’m calling “Making the Connection: Money, God and Me”.  (The “Me” part refers to you as well as to me.)

I’m inviting you to join me because there’s a good chance that my “Big Idea” is going to fundamentally shift the way you think about, see and interact with money and God and open up a new way of thinking, seeing and acting going forward.  One that will not only impact your finances but also your entire life.
